Clancy Pye Unveils Heartfelt New Single Hey Mama – A Timeless Tribute to Mothers

Rising country singer-songwriter Clancy Pye delivers a heartfelt tribute to the most important women in our lives with her stunning new single, Hey Mama. Available on all streaming platforms from Friday, May 2, the release arrives just in time for Mother’s Day—a moving celebration of unconditional love, quiet strength, and grace.

Inspired by Clancy’s deep bond with her own mother, Hey Mama is a tender, honest love letter to the unsung heroes who shape our lives. The track pairs heartfelt lyrics with a warm, acoustic-driven sound, showcasing Clancy’s signature storytelling and rich vocals.

"I wrote this song during the COVID lockdown on Mother’s Day in 2020," Clancy shares. "Being unable to visit my mother or grandmothers, I reflected on what this day truly means. We don’t always celebrate our mothers enough for everything they do, so I wanted to put into words how most of us feel—but maybe don’t express often enough."

Bringing Hey Mama to Life

Recorded at The Vault Studios with producer Sean Rudd, Hey Mama features a lineup of renowned studio and touring musicians, including Pete Drummond (Dragon, Southern Sons) on drums, Adrian Davis on pedal steel, and Clancy’s brother Mickey Pye on guitars, banjo, and backing vocals.

"This song was a joy to bring to life in the studio," Clancy adds. "Having Mickey on backing vocals and playing guitar/banjo made it especially meaningful. We wanted this song to feel like a gift to our mum—and to mothers everywhere."

Clancy Pye: A Rising Star in Country Music

Raised on a farm in Oberon, NSW, Clancy grew up immersed in country music, honing her craft in bars before building a dedicated fanbase drawn to her captivating songs and storytelling.

A two-time Toyota Star Maker Grand Finalist, Clancy has graced major festival stages in Australia and North America, including CMC Rocks, the Gympie Music Muster, CMA Fest (Nashville), and Big Valley Jamboree (Canada). She has supported Australian country greats and most recently toured with Tania Kernaghan and Jason Owen.

A Song That Speaks to the Heart

With sincerity and warmth, Hey Mama is more than just a thank-you—it’s a love letter to the first woman who held us, and the one we grow to appreciate more with age. This touching ballad serves as a reminder to pause, reflect, and cherish the most important women in our lives—our mothers.
